Budgeting for pharmacy surveillance
VigiLanz pricing explained for pharmacy directors, and the antibiogram you can price before the demo
Inovalon does not list a VigiLanz price, so the number appears only after a sales conversation. This page lays out what is publicly known, what moves the quote, and which line of the bill you can replace with a published price.

Short answer
VigiLanz pricing is not published. Inovalon, which bought VigiLanz in 2024, quotes it after a demo, and its ONC disclosure says only that there is a one-time implementation fee and an annual license fee, with no amounts. Public overviews describe a Starter tier limited to antimicrobial use and resistance reporting and a Pro tier with full stewardship and antibiograms. If the part you need is the cumulative antibiogram, Antimicrobe prices that alone: $249 a month for one facility, $749 for three, $2,400 for twelve.
What is publicly known about VigiLanz pricing
VigiLanz now sits inside Inovalon's provider cloud, listed as pharmacy surveillance next to infection prevention and quality management. The product pages offer a demo, not a price list. The two facts that bear on cost are structural. Inovalon's ONC certification disclosure notes a one-time implementation fee and an annual licensing fee, and gives no figures. Overviews from 2025 describe two tiers, a Starter tier limited to antimicrobial use and resistance reporting through a web interface with no software installs, and a Pro tier with full stewardship, analytics and antibiograms.
Treat the tier descriptions as secondary sources and ask Inovalon for the current packaging in writing. Neither tier has a published amount.
What drives a VigiLanz quote
Since the price is negotiated, the useful question is which inputs move it. Confirm each in writing, because none is published.
- Tier: Starter reporting only, or Pro with stewardship alerts and antibiograms
- Size: licensed beds, number of hospitals, or number of facilities in the system
- Interfaces: EHR, laboratory, pharmacy and eMAR feeds, and who builds and maintains them
- The one-time implementation fee versus the annual license fee
- Term and renewal: contract length, the auto-renewal date and the notice period
- Other Inovalon modules bundled into the same agreement
VigiLanz pricing next to the other platforms
Every main competitor works the same way. Nothing below is an estimate, and where a vendor says something about how it charges, the cell quotes only that.
| Product | Price published | What is public about cost | Cumulative antibiogram |
|---|---|---|---|
| VigiLanz (Inovalon) | No | ONC disclosure lists a one-time implementation fee and an annual license fee, no amounts | Yes, on the Pro tier |
| Sentri7 (Wolters Kluwer) | No | Quoted per organization after a demo | Yes, in its analytics dashboard |
| TheraDoc (Premier) | No | Quote or contact only | Described in a Premier blog post, not on the product page |
| BD HealthSight Clinical Advisor | No | Contact BD | Regional and national comparison |
| Antimicrobe | Yes | $249, $749, $2,400 and $3,990 a month by plan | Yes, it is the whole product |
The part of the bill you can price today
Hospitals rarely choose a surveillance platform for the antibiogram. They choose it for alerts, interventions and AUR submission, and the antibiogram comes along. At renewal the antibiogram is often the report the pharmacy still rebuilds by hand for the P and T committee, because the platform version does not follow the isolate rules the committee expects.
Antimicrobe builds that report from a susceptibility CSV exported from the lab. It keeps the first isolate per patient, flags any organism under 30 isolates as CLSI M39 describes, cuts by unit, source and quarter, and prints every rule on the page. The Lab plan is $249 a month for one facility with 25,000 isolates and two seats, bought by card on the pricing page. There is no interface project, and annual billing is half the monthly price. It does not fire real-time alerts or submit AUR data, so it sits beside VigiLanz rather than replacing it. Replacement options are compared on the VigiLanz alternatives and competitors page.

Questions
On this page's topic
How much does VigiLanz cost?
Inovalon does not publish VigiLanz pricing. It quotes after a demo, and its ONC disclosure lists a one-time implementation fee plus an annual license fee without amounts. No competitor publishes a price either. Antimicrobe publishes its plans, from $249 a month for one facility to $2,400 a month for up to twelve.
Does VigiLanz have a free or starter tier?
Public overviews describe a Starter tier limited to antimicrobial use and resistance reporting through a web interface. Inovalon does not publish what it costs, so ask for the amount in writing.
Does VigiLanz include an antibiogram?
Yes. Inovalon describes on-demand and trending antibiogram data, and overviews place full antibiograms on the Pro tier. Hospitals that only need the antibiogram can build it from the lab export with Antimicrobe from $249 a month.
Is there a cheaper alternative to VigiLanz?
For real-time alerts and AUR submission, the alternatives are other platforms with unpublished prices. For the cumulative antibiogram alone, Antimicrobe is priced on its website from $249 a month and runs beside VigiLanz with no interface.
How do we buy Antimicrobe?
Choose a plan on the pricing page and create your account with a work email. The Lab plan is bought by card on the site, and you can run the builder on sample data or your own CSV first.
