Budgeting for clinical surveillance

Sentri7 pricing explained for pharmacy directors, and the one line item you can price before the demo

Wolters Kluwer does not put a Sentri7 price on its website, so the number only appears after a demo. This page lays out what is publicly known, what drives the quote, and which part of the bill you can replace with a published price.

Short answer

Sentri7 pricing is not published. Wolters Kluwer quotes it per organization after a demo, and third-party summaries describe it as priced for enterprise health systems with an implementation of one to three months. No competitor publishes a price either. If the part of Sentri7 you need is the cumulative antibiogram, Antimicrobe prices that alone: $249 a month for one facility, $749 for three, $2,400 for twelve, with the plans listed on the pricing page.

Computed from your own isolates, never from a national average.

What is publicly known about Sentri7 pricing

Wolters Kluwer sells Sentri7 as a family of applications on one platform: pharmacy surveillance, antimicrobial and opioid stewardship, Bayesian dosing, infection prevention and drug diversion monitoring. Its product pages offer a demo and a conversation with an expert, not a price list. A third-party software directory describes the product as SaaS with pricing structured for enterprise health systems and not publicly disclosed, and gives an implementation window of one to three months. That directory is a secondary source, so treat the timeline as a planning range, not a promise.

The only dollar figure Wolters Kluwer itself publishes is on the value side. A vendor case study says St. Dominic Hospital, a 571-bed facility in Jackson, Mississippi, used Sentri7 to find patients on nicardipine infusions and cut spending on that drug by about $30,000 a month, over $360,000 a year. It is one hospital and one drug, not a benchmark, and it says nothing about what the hospital paid for the software.

What drives a Sentri7 quote

Because the price is negotiated, the useful question is which inputs move it. Vendors in this category generally price on some mix of the items below. Confirm each in writing, since none is published.

  • Modules: pharmacy surveillance alone, or the bundle with infection prevention, diversion and dosing
  • Size: licensed beds, number of hospitals, or number of facilities in the system
  • Interfaces: EHR, laboratory, pharmacy and eMAR feeds, and who builds them
  • One-time implementation fee versus an annual subscription
  • Term and renewal: contract length, the auto-renewal date and the notice period
  • Reporting add-ons: NHSN antimicrobial use and resistance submission and benchmarking

Sentri7 pricing next to the other platforms

Every main competitor works the same way. Nothing below is an estimate, and where a vendor says something about how it charges, the cell quotes only that.

The part of the bill you can price today

Hospitals rarely buy a surveillance platform for the antibiogram. They buy it for alerts, intervention tracking and AUR submission, and the antibiogram comes along. At renewal, though, the antibiogram is often the report the pharmacy still rebuilds by hand for the P and T committee, because the platform version does not follow the isolate rules the committee expects.

Antimicrobe builds that report from a susceptibility CSV exported from the lab. It keeps the first isolate per patient, flags any organism under 30 isolates as CLSI M39 describes, cuts by unit, source and quarter, and prints every rule on the page. The Lab plan is $249 a month for one facility with 25,000 isolates and two seats, bought by card on the pricing page. There is no interface project. Annual billing is half the monthly price. It does not fire real-time alerts or submit AUR data, so it sits beside Sentri7 rather than replacing it. The comparison of replacement options is on the Sentri7 alternatives and competitors page.

Questions to ask before you accept a quote

Pharmacy directors who have been through a renewal tend to ask the same few things. Get answers by email, not on the call.

  • Which modules in this quote do our pharmacists open every week, and what does the quote look like with only those
  • What is the price of the first renewal year, and is there a cap on the increase
  • What does an EHR change cost us, and who owns the interface rebuild
  • Can pharmacist interventions and notes be exported in a usable format if we leave
  • Is NHSN AUR submission included, and for which months of the reporting period
  • Can the cumulative antibiogram be printed with its de-duplication rule and isolate threshold

When Sentri7 is worth its price

If stewardship pharmacists work the alert queue daily, the platform earns its place and the St. Dominic type of drug-spend finding is exactly the use case. A top-ranked surveillance system doing its job is a poor thing to drop to fix one report. The cheaper move is to keep it and take the annual antibiogram off the platform.

Questions

On this page's topic

How much does Sentri7 cost?

Wolters Kluwer does not publish Sentri7 pricing. It quotes per organization after a demo, and a third-party directory describes it as priced for enterprise health systems. No competitor publishes a price either. Antimicrobe publishes its plans, from $249 a month for one facility to $2,400 a month for up to twelve.

Is Sentri7 priced per bed?

Wolters Kluwer does not say. Its public pages describe no pricing unit. Ask the sales team how the quote is built, whether by beds, hospitals or modules, and get the answer in writing.

How long does Sentri7 take to implement?

A third-party directory lists one to three months. Wolters Kluwer does not publish an implementation time, and the real figure depends on how many EHR, laboratory and pharmacy interfaces your hospital needs.

Does Sentri7 include an antibiogram?

Yes. Wolters Kluwer says the Sentri7 analytics dashboard includes a customizable antibiogram, sold as part of the surveillance platform. Hospitals that only need the antibiogram can build it from the lab export with Antimicrobe from $249 a month.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Sentri7?

For real-time alerts and AUR submission, the alternatives are other platforms with unpublished prices. For the cumulative antibiogram alone, Antimicrobe is priced on its website from $249 a month, and runs beside Sentri7 with no interface.

How do we buy Antimicrobe?

Choose a plan on the pricing page and create your account with a work email. The Lab plan is bought by card on the site, and you can run the builder on sample data or your own CSV first.
