BD HealthSight pricing is not published. BD lists Clinical Advisor, its antimicrobial stewardship application, and Infection Advisor with MedMined Insights, its infection surveillance application, with a contact option and no price. What a hospital pays is set in a negotiated contract, and it depends on which applications you buy, how many facilities share the agreement and how many data feeds already exist.

Nothing here is an estimate of what your hospital would pay. Where a fact appears, it comes from BD's own pages or from the product history we describe on the MedMined alternatives page.

What the product history says about how BD HealthSight is bought

MedMined began as infection surveillance technology developed at UAB. Cardinal Health bought it in 2006, it moved to CareFusion in the 2009 spin-off, and BD acquired CareFusion in 2015. Clinical Advisor sits next to it in a pharmacy analytics family built around the Pyxis and Alaris product lines. That lineage matters for budgeting, because many hospitals buy HealthSight as an extension of a device and medication management relationship, and the price sits inside a larger BD agreement.

The practical consequence is that the HealthSight line on your invoice may not be the whole cost. Ask whether it is priced alone or discounted against dispensing cabinets and infusion pumps, since a discount that depends on a bundle can disappear when the bundle changes.

What drives a Clinical Advisor quote

Because no amount is published, the useful question is which inputs move the price. Confirm each in writing.

  • Applications: Clinical Advisor alone, or with Infection Advisor and MedMined Insights
  • Size: licensed beds, number of hospitals, or facilities in the system
  • Data feeds: EHR, order entry, laboratory and pathology interfaces, and who builds them
  • Implementation fee versus the recurring subscription
  • Term and renewal: contract length, the auto-renewal date and the notice period
  • Any bundle discount tied to other BD products

How much does BD HealthSight Clinical Advisor cost?

No public source gives a per-hospital figure. Any number quoted in a forum or on a review site is one customer's contract, signed under different terms and years. Expect a quote built from applications and interfaces rather than a flat rate, and ask for it itemized: license by application, support, interface build, training and the renewal increase. An itemized quote is the only version you can compare with a Sentri7, VigiLanz or TheraDoc quote, because the totals bundle different things.

BD HealthSight pricing next to the other platforms

Every comparable product is quote only. The table shows what each vendor says publicly about cost and about the antibiogram, since the antibiogram is the report most often rebuilt outside the platform.

How to build a renewal budget without the number

Start from what you can count. List the applications your pharmacists and infection preventionists open each week, the reports that leave the platform to be rebuilt in a spreadsheet, and the hours each takes. Then ask BD for the same applications priced alone. If the gap between the bundle and the used parts is large, that gap is your negotiating room.

The cumulative antibiogram is the classic report that leaves. It is annual, rule-bound and needs only a laboratory export, so moving it off the platform shrinks what you have to defend to finance.

What a BD HealthSight renewal should check

  • The alerts your team actually acts on, and the quote without the rest
  • The price of the second and third year, and any cap on increases
  • Whether any discount depends on other BD products staying in place
  • What an EHR change costs and who owns the interface rebuild
  • Whether the cumulative antibiogram prints with its first-isolate rule and 30 isolate threshold
  • How intervention history exports if you change vendors

Where an antibiogram tool fits

If your committee table is still a spreadsheet, that report is the piece you can price today. Antimicrobe builds the cumulative antibiogram from a lab susceptibility CSV, follows CLSI M39, prints its rules, and costs $249 a month for one facility, bought by card. It does not replace Infection Advisor, which watches for healthcare-associated infection patterns, and it fires no real-time alerts. The full list of replacement options is on the MedMined and BD HealthSight alternatives page, and the same exercise for two other platforms is in Sentri7 pricing and VigiLanz pricing.

Quotes from four vendors in different formats are hard to line up. Some teams use procurement software to compare vendor quotes line by line before the renewal meeting.

Is BD HealthSight worth its price

For a health system that runs stewardship alerts and HAI surveillance across many hospitals on BD infrastructure, the platform does a job a report tool cannot. For a community hospital that uses it mainly for the antibiogram and a few rules, the renewal is the moment to price that one report separately and decide whether the rest earns its place.
